§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many people have been served with exclusion orders; how many exclusion orders have been signed but not served; and how many people have been excluded since the Prevention of Terrorism Act 1974 came into effect.
§ Dr. SummerskillNotice of the making of an exclusion order under the Prevention of Terrorism (Temporary Provisions) Act has been served on 18 people. Of these, 13 have so far been removed. In addition, my right hon. Friend has made six exclusion orders notice of which has not been served. Four of the persons concerned are understood to be outside the United Kingdom. The other two have been charged with murder, and my right hon. Friend has therefore revoked these orders, pending the outcome of the criminal proceedings.
