Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services, in view of the fact that a man with a wife and two children earning a gross weekly wage 110W of £25 requires an increase in his gross wage of 88 per cent. in order to maintain his living standard, assuming a rate of inflation of 20 per cent., if she will take steps designed to change this situation.
