HC Deb 25 February 1975 vol 887 cc120-1W
50. Mr. Holland

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she will consider, as a matter of urgency, the provision of a new dialysis unit for regular dialysis treatment and home training, for the county of Nottinghamshire.

Dr. Owen

A dialysis unit is included in the proposed new wards block at the Nottingham City Hospital which is currently being considered by my Department and the Regional Hospital Authority for inclusion in the 1975–76 capital programme. I have asked the Regional Health Authority to indicate its priorities within its overall budget. If this scheme is deferred I shall ask the regional and area health authorities to consider alternative means of providing dialysis services. Meanwhile two beds are to be made available in Nottingham for home dialysis training from next mouth.
