§ Mr. Grieveasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) why the local office of the Department of Health and Social Security for Birmingham, on 30th January 1975, had no copies of leaflets numbers NP.7, NP.8, NP.15, NP.18, NI.35, NI.41 and NI.196;
(2) why, in response to the application of the hon. and learned Member for Solihull's constituent, Mr. G. Norris of Messrs. Norris, Harper & Company, for leaflets NP.7, NP.8, NP.15, NP.18, NI.35, NI.41 and NI.196, the Department was able to send only leaflets No. NI.35 (May 1972), NI.41 (November 1973) and NI.196.
§ Mr. Alec JonesThere was an erroneous belief at the local office that leaflet NP.8 had been superseded by NP.15; the shortage of leaflet NP.7, NP.15 and NP.18 was due to a temporary supply problem. NI.208, setting out the new contribution rates, should have been issued with the November 1973 print of NI.411. The May 1972 print of NI.35 is being used to exhaustion although there is a later print.
122WThe difficulties experienced by Mr. Norris are very much regretted. A copy of each document has since been supplied to him.
