§ Mr. Leeasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will arrange to monitor the employment of Chilean refugees as they enter the United Kingdom so as to ensure that they secure employment as soon as possible.
§ Mr. John FraserI am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that arrangements have been made for Chilean refugees seeking employment or training to be referred to local offices of the Employment Service Agency. The full resources of the employment and training services, including professional and executive recruitment and the Training Opportunities Scheme, are available to assist in a speedy resettlement. These arrangements are being kept under review.
