§ Mr. Denis HowellThe nine regional water authorities in England are responsible also for drainage in respect of main rivers. They employ some 54,600 people at the present time. The authorities have 139W estimated that their salary and wages bill will be £130.2 million in 1974–75 and £169.2 million in 1975–76.
