§ Miss Joan LestorThere are 194 British residents of United Kingdom origin remaining in the Turkish-held areas of Cyprus. Responsibility for their personal safety and the security of their possessions is a matter for the Turkish authorities, to whom we have made repeated representations on their behalf.

§ Miss Joan LestorA realistic estimate of financial losses sustained by British subjects in Cyprus is not practicable while access to certain areas of the island continues to be prohibited by the Turkish military authorities.
