The majority of forces have acquired rifles which were recommended following532W a review carried out in consultation with chief officers of police. These weapons are modified versions of the standard Army target rifle, fitted with a telescope sight and using standard military ammunition. I am satisfied that they are no more powerful than is necessary to provide sufficient accuracy at the ranges which may be required.
