HC Deb 15 December 1975 vol 902 c492W
47. Mr. John Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Trade in how many cases, and to what aggregate value, the Export Credits Guarantee Department has insured exporters against a higher than expected rate of inflation since he made his announcement of this facility on 20th February last.

Mr. Deakins

As my right hon. Friend told the Houses earlier today in reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Ton-bridge and Malling (Mr. Stanley), this facility has already assisted in the successful negotiation of nearly £130 million of export business. This relates to three signed contracts and two letters of intent. Many other contractors involving large amounts are being actively considered.
