§ Mr. Edward Gardnerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much money from central funds has been spent so far on the start of the development of the Central Lancashire New Town compared with the amount of money from central funds which, in the light of the Government's decision to slow down the growth of the CLNT, is to be allocated to the future development of the new town from now up to the end of 1980.
§ Mr. OakesInformation about expenditure already incurred by the Central Lancashire New Town Development Corporation is available from its accounts published as part of the annual report. No decision has been made about the growth rate of CLNT. Expenditure during the remainder of the decade will largely be a function of decisions which have to be made by my right hon. Friend in the light of the public inquiry into the Development Corporation's outline plan proposals; these decisions are unlikely before early next spring.
