HC Deb 11 December 1975 vol 902 c292W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proposals he has to increase the maximum compensation from £6.70 per day for loss of wages while attending legal proceedings; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

I have made orders increasing to £8 a day, as from 29th December, the maximum allowances for witnesses in criminal proceedings and in coroners' courts and for coroners' jurors. My right hon. and noble Friend the Lord Chancellor is making similar provision for other jurors.
