Mr. Pardoe

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is the average cost per student year in primary schools, secondary schools, technical colleges, polytechnics and universities, in England and Wales, in the latest period for which figures are available; and if he is able to provide comparable figures for other countries in the EEC.

In the financial year 1974–75 the net institutional recurrent costs per pupil or student were as follows:
