§ Mr. Denzil DaviesThe share of the gross trading profits of companies in total domestic income, net of stock appreciation, is given below for the periods requested. Information on profits is not available from international sources. Figures on the basis of the national 111W accounting concept of net operating surplus are available for the years 1960 to 1973, however, and these are presented below as a percentage of net domestic product at factor cost and at market prices. The figures relate to all trading activities including farming, whether in the public or private sector and whether carried out by incorporated or unincorporated enterprises. The different level of the percentages reflects, in part, the
