(2) what steps he has taken, and what representations he has made, to encourage the preparation and submission of suitable applications for projects for aid from the Regional Fund.
§ Mr. William RossLocal authorities in Scotland, including development corporations of new towns, were advised by the Scottish Economic Planning Department's Circular 1/1975, dated 31st October 1975, of the purpose, scope and requirements of the Regional Development Fund and invited to suggest projects which could be the subject of applications to the fund. Other public agencies in Scotland, for example, the Highlands and Islands Development Board and the Scottish Tourist Board, have also been given advice. There will, of course, be continuing contact between my Department and the authorities concerned over the selection and submission of applications.
