§ Mr. Andrew F. Bennettasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish a list in the Official Report of the number of immigrants in each employment district of the United Kingdom aged between 16 and 18 years—or a similar more convenient age band—the percentage in each area who are unemployed and the percentage who have been unemployed for more than six months.
§ Mr. John FraserI regret that the information requested is not readily avail-able and could not be obtained without disproportionate cost. In February of each year statistics are collected which analyse by age groups unemployed persons who were born, or whose parents were born, in certain Commonwealth countries and Pakistan. The numbers in the 16–17 age group unemployed in February 1975—standard regions of Great Britain only—were:
REGION East Anglia 21 South-East 710 South-West 43 West Midlands 448 East Midlands 101 Yorks and Humber 126 North-West 98 North 13 Wales 5 Scotland 4 The statistics do not include the duration of unemployment.
