HC Deb 05 December 1975 vol 901 c424W
Mr. Skinner

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will place in the Official Report the latest figure for (a) the pithead price of coal, (b) that amount attributable to wages, etc. and (c) that amount attributable to materials, etc.

Mr. Eadie

The average pithead realization of deep mined coal is currently about £16.60/ton. In the first seven months of the financial year 1975–76 some 52 per cent. of operating costs was attributable to wages and wages charges and some 48 per cent. to materials, repairs and other charges.
