§ Rev. Ian Paisleyasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list the schemes to be put into hand in Northern Ireland as a result of the grant of £2,000,000 to the construction industry and the estimated cost of each scheme.
§ Mr. Concannon, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 1st December 1975; Vol. 901, c. 428], circulated the following:
The programme of works to aid employment in the construction industry in Northern Ireland includes a £200,000 scheme for the improvement of Annalong harbour. The remainder of the allocation of £2 million is to be spent on a large number of small projects distributed widely throughout Northern Ireland. Departments are currently preparing programmes covering the following types of works:—
£ Provision of small recreation areas 240,000 Minor works at schools 240,000 Energy conservation works in schools and government housing 70,000 Small water and sewerage schemes 400,000 Railway stations and halt refurbishing 400,000 Repairs and minor works at hospitals, old people's homes and similar institutions 450,000 Improvements in forestry housing and housing at agricultural colleges 160,000 Adaptation of special premises for employment services in main streets 60,000 Minor works for training schools in West Belfast, Armagh and North Antrim 180,000
