§ 30. Mr. Biffenasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on his attitude towards those proposals for EEC regulations in respect of pollution which are now before the Council of Ministers.
§ Mr. John SilkinThe United Kingdom helped to establish the Environment Action Programme of the European Communities and fully supports its general aims. The Government's attitude to individual proposals, as they come forward, will be governed by the extent to which they provide practical solutions to problems requiring Community wide action and do not endanger our own priorities for investment in pollution control.
