§ Mr. Charles R. MorrisActual gross expenditure, ignoring receipts by way of contributions, on pensions and lump sum benefits for retired civil servants and their dependants, amounted to some £203 million in 1974–75. The estimate for 1975–76 is £259 million, which takes account of the additional pensions which will fall to be paid during the current financial year.
