§ Mr. Edward ShortNo printing machines have been installed in the House and there have been no consultations with printing trade unions. As I said on 3rd July, copying machines have been provided on the Interview Floor to ensure that the business of the House can proceed if normal deliveries of printed matter are not available in time, but documents produced by this means are not a substitute for print.

The copying machines on the Interview Floor are rented and their cost is dependent on the amount of work produced. Some ancillary equipment was purchased at a cost of about £5,000. Installation costs were approximately £4,250.
