§ Mr. HattersleyThe procedure varies according to the organisation concerned and the type of appointment. Normal practice is that the appointment should go to the person most suitable for the job, having regard to qualifications, experience and willingness to serve. The interests of private and semi-official groups concerned in the appointment are also taken into account.
