§ Mr. Gregor MackenzieThe number of applications for IDCs in England which were refused were: 1972–53; 1973–89; 1974–66. However, the IDC exemption limits were raised in July 1972 and lowered in September 1974. The IDC control ceased to apply in development areas in July 1972. For these reasons the figures are not comparable.
