HC Deb 04 August 1975 vol 897 cc94-5W
Mr. Hayhoe

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what was the average time between notice of appeal from industrial tribunal decisions and hearing before the National Industrial Relations Court during its last six months; and what is the comparable time now that these appeals are heard by the High Court.

Mr. Booth

I understand that the NIRC usually heard appeals from industrial tribunals about 7–8 weeks after they were entered, and that the High Court normally disposes of such appeals in about 12–15 weeks. A higher proportion of High Court cases are disposed of without a hearing.
