§ 30 Mr. McNamara
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he expects the remaining stages of the M62 to be completed.
§ Mr. Carmichael
The eastern end of the M62 from Pollington to Caves should be160W completed during the latter part of this year, with the exception of the bridge over the River Ouse. This is expected to be completed in the spring of 1976. The contract for the western end of the M62 between Queens Drive, Liverpool, and Tarbock includes the construction of a viaduct which forms an integral part of the scheme. The contract provides for completion in December this year but, although the motorway works are proceeding according to programme, work on the viaduct has been delayed by shortage of materials.
