Mr. Hooley

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions have taken place between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of the United States of America concerning breaches of United Nations sanctions against Rhodesia involving 17 shipments to the USA of chrome ore, nickel, asbestos and other materials during the last quarter of 1974.

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply by my right hon. Friend the Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs to a Question from my right hon. Friend the Member for Jarrow (Mr. Fernyhough) on 22nd January.—[Vol. 884, c.350.]

We are keeping in touch with the United States administration on this matter. I understand that the repeal Bill is now awaiting consideration by the House of Representatives International Relations Committee after being agreed by a sub-committee.
