§ Mr. Arthur Jonesasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will confirm that the bypass for Little Houghton, Northamptonshire, is included in the trunk road preparation pool; if plans for the bypass have been approved by him; and if a date for construction can be indicated under the roll-forward programme of trunk road projects.
§ Mr. CarmichaelThis scheme is in the trunk road preparation pool but detailed plans are still being considered. Subject to the availability of funds and the satisfactory completion of statutory procedures I hope that a start can be made in about five years' time.
