§ Mr. Cyril Smithasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will take steps to increase the level of heating 340W allowances in view of the increased electricity charges.
§ Mr. O'MalleyThe supplementary benefit scale rates which cover all normal requirements including heating, are being increased as from this week. The levels of the discretionary additions which are payable where extra expenditure on heating is necessary are being reviewed by the Supplementary Benefits Commission.
