§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will provide figures for outward investment from the United Kingdom to EEC countries, individually identified if possible, for the five years before entry and for the period after entry to the EEC.
§ Mr. DeakinsEstimates up to 1972 of United Kingdom direct investment, excluding oil, in individual countries were published in July 1974 in the Business Monitor, M4. Figures for the countries which are currently members of the EEC are repeated in the table below. Corresponding estimates for 1973 will not become available until April 1975, but the information so far available suggests that total United Kingdom direct investment, excluding oil, in the other eight countries of the EEC was probably within the range of £330 million-£410 million.
