asked the Minister for the Civil Service, following his answer on the numbers employed in the Civil Service—OFFICIAL REPORT, 13th November 1974, columns 145–8—what percentage civil servants based in Scotland form of all United Kingdom civil servants.

On 1st January 1974 there were 45,000 non-industrial civil servants in Scotland. This total represents 8.8 per cent. of the total United Kingdom non-industrial Civil Service.
