asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the latest progress of the Conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe.

There has been progress on some parts on the agenda since the conference resumed after the summer break, but it has been slower than we would have liked. With our friends and allies we have been trying to advance matters, and there has recently been a more encouraging response.
