§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer for what reasons he has not filled the vacancy for the Government-appointed director of British Petroleum, caused by the death of Sir John Stevens, KCMG, DSO, OBE, who died on 27th October 1973.
§ Mr. DellThe Government's general relations with BP are conducted through normal departmental channels direct with the chairman and management. An announcement about the appointment of a second director will be made at the appropriate time.
