§ 36. Sir George Youngasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, further to his statement on 27th June 1974 about the admission to the United Kingdom of foreign husbands of United Kingdom citizens, what is the length of time involved before such husbands are admitted.
§ Mr. Alexander W. LyonThis varies with the circumstances of the particular case, including the country in which the husband applies for entry clearance. The worst delays are in the Indian subcontinent varying from 12 months in Delhi to three years in Dacca, but we are doing what we can to reduce these delays.
