asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the sources from which financial assistance is available for the sound insulation of homes close to Ministry of Defence airfields.

As announced in a White Paper of October 1972 (Cmnd. 5124), the Ministry of Defence may at its discretion meet the cost of soundproofing buildings which are subject to high noise levels through the use of new neighbouring defence installations. Such installations must have been brought into use since 17th October 1969, the operative date specified in the White Paper.
