§ Mrs. Ann Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, in view of the fact that the United Nations General Assembly has designated 1975 as International Women's Year, what provision has been made by Her Majesty's Government to mark the year in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. EnnalsWe have invited the Women's National Commission, which has direct links with women's organisations throughout the country, to co-ordinate the United Kingdom's national activities to mark International Women's Year. The commission has already established a co-ordinating committee, which is now preparing the programme. We have agreed to make a grant of £10,000 to the Women's National Commission. Parliament will be asked to approve the necessary Supplementary Estimate in due course. In the meantime an advance will, if necessary, be sought from the Contingencies Fund.
