§ Mr. Edward ShortI stated in the House on 29th July—[Vol. 878, c. 32.]—that the Government considered that financial assistance should be provided for the staffing of the Office of the Leader of the Opposition. I hope to put forward shortly detailed proposals on this, and on the setting up of a Select Committee on assistance to Members generally.
