HL Deb 13 November 1974 vol 354 c862WA
THE EARL OF HARROWBY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will bring out a modern edition of "B.R. 84" published by the Admiralty in 1936.

LORD WINTERBOTTOM

We have not been able to trace any document published pre-war with this reference. It was, however, proposed in the mid-1950s to publish a Book of Reference (B.R.) giving information on procedures to be followed on arrival at certain foreign ports; this was allocated the number 84. In the event, it was not published because it was considered to be administratively simpler to make the information available by other means such as Fleet Orders and instructions. This remains the position.

House adjourned at four minutes past seven o'clock.
