Rossasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many times the windows of schools in the Creggan area of Londonderry have been broken and replaced; what has been the cost of replacement on a school by school basis; how many persons have been charged with breaking windows in these schools; and what were the ages, in the last 12 months.
§ Mr. ConcannonI understand from the Western Education and Library Board that windows of schools in the Creggan area of Londonderry have been broken and replaced approximately 140 times during the period 1st October 1973 to 30th September 1974.
The approximate cost to the board of replacement on a school by school basis for the same period is as follows:
result, to ensure that retirement pensioners are able to purchase regular and normal supplies of sugar;
(2) whether she will discuss with multiple grocery retailers the introduction of a voluntary sugar allocation scheme to ensure regular and adequate supplies to retirement pensioners.
§ Mrs. Shirley WilliamsI have asked grocery trade associations representing both independent and multiple retailers to remind their members of the importance, when sharing out sugar supplies fairly, 115W of making special arrangements for the more vulnerable sectors of the population, such as pensioners. I believe that retailers generally are willingly co-operating in this.
