§ Mr. McCuskerasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many secretarial and administrative staff were employed by the county education committees in Northern Ireland prior to reorganisation; and how many are now employed by the various area education boards.
§ Mr. ConcannonPrior to reorganisation there were 740 such staff. There are now 900 employed by the five area education and library boards. A number of the administrative duties now performed by the boards, e.g., finance and establishment, were formerly undertaken by staff not employed exclusively on educational matters.
