HC Deb 11 November 1974 vol 881 cc36-7W
Mr. Michael Clark Hutchison

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what assistance he is giving to Mr. R. D. MacRae, Bunessan, Mull, in his experiment in growing Falkland Islands grass or tussock for livestock food.

Mr. William Ross

I have received no approaches from Mr. MacRae. Responsibility for advisory services in agriculture and horticulture in Mull lies with the West of Scotland Agricultural College, and I am assured that the college would be willing to consider any request from Mr. MacRae for advice on this

Current information about teachers' salaries in other EEC countries is not available. In any event, comparisons would be difficult because of differences in salary structures, conditions of service, pension and social security arrangements, and variations in cost of living and exchange rates.
