HC Deb 08 November 1974 vol 880 cc280-1W
Mr. Kilroy-Silk

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the length of the waiting list and the average waiting time for a hysterectomy at Walton Hospital (a) for NHS patients and (b) for private patients, respectively.

Dr. Owen

On 30th September there were 71 National Health Service patients awaiting admission for hysterectomy and other types of gynaecological treatment. None had waited for more than six months. Separate current figures for hysterectomy are not available, but of 59 patients admitted for hysterectomy in the last quarter of 1973, six were admitted immediately and only four waited for more than three months. Waiting lists are not maintained for private patients.
