Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many bricks have been produced so far in 1974; and what estimate he has made of the likely total level of production this year.

Mr. Kaufman

In the first nine months 40 of 1974 the total production of bricks in Great Britain was 4,282 million. The Department considers that production of bricks for 1974 as a whole is likely on present trends to be about 5,500 million.

Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will set out in tabular form the level of stocks, production and deliveries of bricks for each month of this year, and the equivalent month of 1973.
