HC Deb 07 November 1974 vol 880 cc216-7W
Mr. Greville Janner

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many hospital beds are available in the city of Leicester per 1,000 population; and how this compares with the national average.

Dr. Owen

Information relating to the city of Leicester only would be misleading. In 1973 the number of beds per 1,000 population in the Leicester hospitals' catchment area was 6.47. The average for England was 8.69.
