§ 38. Mr. Gourlayasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received regarding the delay in paying student grants; what are the reasons for the delay; and when he expects to complete the payment of grants to those who applied in April 1974.
§ Mr. William RossRepresentations have been received from Members, students and parents about delays which have been caused by a changeover this year in the system for dealing with student grant applications from a purely clerical procedure to one involving the use of the computer. Most students have 105W now been paid and urgent effort is being made to ensure that outstanding payments are made as soon as possible.
