asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he is satisfied that all British industry is able fairly to compete with Japanese products.

Mr. Deakins

The substantial increases in most British exports to Japan in recent years have demonstrated both the increased competitiveness of British industry and the extent to which restrictions on imports into the Japanese market have been removed.
