asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will introduce legislation to take back into public ownership those assets which were previously part of publicly-owned industries but which were hived off and sold to private enterprises after June 1970.

As my hon. Friend will know, our manifesto stated our intentions in this matter. My right hon. Friends will consider at the appropriate time how these intentions should be implemented.
