Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what are the latest estimated figures for the average per capita personal income before tax in each of the counties of Wales, respectively; and how these figures compare with the average for England and Scotland.

for that year. They exclude non-taxable receipts, such as certain national insurance benefits, as well as income below the exemption limit for tax. It is probable that some of the figures shown above are underestimated to a relatively greater extent than in the country as a whole, because of a higher proportion of individuals whose incomes or parts of whose incomes are not taken into account in the calculations.
