§ Mr. MacGregorasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will list the net income in 1964–65 of a married man with two children under 11 years at gross salary levels of £2,000, £4,000, £6,000 and £8,000; and what the equivalent gross and net salaries would be in 1974–75, taking into account the fall in the value of money and also 1974–75 tax provisions.
§ Dr. GilbertI will write to the hon. Member. Rates (Excess Payments) Mr. Kershaw asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he has reviewed the operation of Section 9 of the General Rate Act 1967 which empowers a rating authority to refund excess rates paid by a householder; whether he will now issue general guidance to valuation officers that they should call the attention of householders to overpayments when they discover them, so that the householder may reclaim; and whether he will make a statement.
