HC Deb 23 May 1974 vol 874 cc240-1W
Mrs. Winifred Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether defence expenditure cuts are to apply to the airfields at RAF Lossiemouth and RAF Kinloss.

Mr. John

As my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State said when the House debated defence on 13th May, we are engaged in the most comprehensive examination of our defence posture ever carried out in peace time. In the meantime it would be inappropriate to forecast the detailed effects the review may have on particular defence facilities, but full account will be taken of the important role of the squadrons at these two stations.
