§ Mr. DeakinsIn 1973 Chile accounted for about 10 per cent. of world mine production of copper, and about 19 per cent. of United Kingdom imports of blister and refined copper. Apart from Chile, the main copper producers outside Eastern Europe are the United States, Canada, Zambia, Zaire, Peru, Philippines and Australia, including Papua New Guinea.
