HC Deb 22 May 1974 vol 874 c210W
Mr. Ifor Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether he will make a statement about the future of the Welsh Council.

Mr. John Morris

The term of office of the Welsh Council ended on 31st March 1974. I have decided to invite the chairman and all the members of that council to continue in office. I do not propose to appoint members for a fixed term as I wish to be free to review the position further in due course in the light of the progress made in dealing with the report of the Royal Commission on the Constitution.
